Quality Assurance of Joint Programmes based on the European Approach

The European Approach for Quality Assurance of Joint Programmes which was approved by the Ministers of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) has been developed to ease the process for external quality assurance of these programmes by creating a common set of standards and framework without applying any additional national criteria or requirements.

As an EQAR registered agency, QQI may be requested by an institution to conduct the external evaluation of a joint programme using the European Approach.  Section 42 of the Qualifications and Quality Assurance (Education and Training) Act 2012 (as amended) enables QQI to conduct such an evaluation, these procedures are established by QQI to facilitate such requests.

The procedures outline the process being implemented by QQI in the external quality assurance of a joint programme based on the European Approach.
