Spotlight on e-proctoring
With the onset of COVID restrictions, alternative online assessment procedures such as e-proctoring became a hot topic, being discussed, trialled and implemented widely both nationally and internationally.
A new report, ‘E-proctoring in theory and practice: a review’ commissioned by QQI and authored by Professor Paul Giller, Emeritus Professor in Ecology at University College Cork, has reviewed the various approaches being taken at home and broad, highlighting the advantages and constraints of e-proctoring, and presenting guidance and recommendations for educators, assessors and policy makers.
