QQI contributors in 2nd edition, the Handbook of Academic Integrity
The Handbook of Academic Integrity, edited by Dr Tracey Bretag, was first published in 2016, with the aim of providing a detailed reference work, setting out the commonalities and differences in approaches to academic integrity internationally. A second edition is now being published as a living reference work, with chapters going live online in advance of the publication of the static printed work.
QQI has contributed two chapters to the second edition:
-
a chapter on responses in the fields of legislation, regulation and policy to address contract cheating, coauthored by Mairéad Boland, Senior Manager, Academic Integrity Regulation and Strategic Partnerships, and Professor Michael Draper, Swansea University, and
-
a chapter on how QQI, NAIN and its member institutions have worked together to enhance cultures of academic integrity in Irish higher education, coauthored by Sue Hackett, Manager, Academic Integrity Enhancement and Strategic Projects; Billy Kelly, Chair of the National Academic Integrity Network (NAIN); and NAIN Steering Committee members, Dr Yvonne Kavanagh and Dr Iain MacLabhrainn.
Both chapters highlight the leadership role that Ireland is playing internationally with regard to academic integrity, both in the fields of regulation and policy, and enhancement.
