Quality in Higher and Further Education and Training
QQI reports which make for essential reading are our annual snapshot of quality in both the HE and FET sectors. Another milestone was reached by our colleagues in the Tertiary Education Monitoring and Review Unit with the publication of the reports for 2019 - Quality in Irish Higher Education and Quality in Irish Further Education and Training.
Quality in Irish Higher Education, a summary of the Annual Institutional Quality Reports (AIQRs) of Ireland’s public Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), affirms the sector-wide commitment of Irish HEIs to quality assurance and enhancement, and to continually improving the learner experience. It also reveals the increasingly complex nature of QA processes and activities in contemporary Irish higher education, as well as new and emerging themes reflective of elements of QQI and European guidelines.
The second,Quality in Irish Further Education and Training, reflects QQI’s observations on quality assurance developments within the sector arising from the quality reporting undertaken by the Education and Training Boards. This demonstrates considerable activity in a range of areas across the sector to further develop and integrate quality assurance mechanisms and enhance the delivery of further education and training.
Both reports are published as part of the QQI Insights series which aims to shape a fuller understanding of quality and qualifications in education and training, to inform and influence policy in education, training and employment, and to play a role in driving future transformation across the education and training sectors.
