Publication of QQI White Paper: Inaugural Review of Quality Assurance in Education and Training Boards

QQI’s White Paper on the Inaugural Review of Quality Assurance in Education and Training Boards (ETBs) outlines the proposed approach to the first review of quality assurance within the ETBs to be completed under section 34 of the Qualifications and Quality Assurance (Education and Training) Act (2012). As the inaugural reviews will constitute the first such activity of its type in this sector, this will be a unique and discrete review event. 
The White Paper outlines the proposed:
• principles under which a Policy for the inaugural reviews (and any related procedures) will be developed;
• purpose of the reviews;
• scope of the reviews; and
• review model and methodology.
Following consideration of consultation responses, QQI will develop a Policy on ETB reviews, which will govern the development of more detailed procedural arrangements.
QQI is seeking feedback from stakeholders on the approach outlined in the White Paper. Responses should be provided by email to consultation@qqi.ie. Please include ‘White Paper: Inaugural Review of Quality Assurance in ETBs’ in the subject line. The deadline for submissions 28 June 2019.
