Research Futures

On Thursday 6th July 2023, QQI and the HEA launched the updated National Framework for Doctoral Education (NFDE) at the Research Futures event. As co-chairs of the National Framework for Doctoral Education (NFDE) Advisory Forum, QQI and the HEA were delighted to present the refreshed Framework and would like to thank all of those who contributed to the refresh project, which began in late 2022.

At the event, the working groups reporting to the Advisory Forum took the opportunity to share progress on the recent projects which have been underway which focus on the creation of a new PhD microsite, developing career tracking opportunities, and the development of a national postgraduate student engagement network.

The HEA also provided an introduction to the TU Research and Innovation Supporting Enterprise (TU RISE) scheme, which is funded by the European Regional Development Fund.

Finally, the microsite www.MyPhD.ie was launched: a centralised place for prospective and current PhD students, employers and government officials to find information on doctoral education in Ireland.
